THE
LEADERS
BEHIND
THE MISSION

Even in the rain, our leadership team brings experience, resilience, and passion to the work we do. Each bio shares not just a professional path but the heart behind their “why.”

Alysha

A proud Madison East High School graduate, I played varsity basketball all four years and served as a team captain. I continued my athletic career at Highland Community College, where I became the first two-time All-American in school history. My journey hasn’t been without challenges—tearing both of my ACLs during high school and AAU taught me resilience, perseverance, and the power of determination.

Now entering my fourth year as Head Girls Basketball Coach at Madison East, I am committed to leading young athletes not only on the court but in life. During the day, I serve as a Restorative Justice Coach in the Sun Prairie School District, where I focus on building strong relationships, fostering trust, and creating supportive communities. I am also pursuing further education with the goal of becoming a school principal.

Beyond my professional roles, I am a proud mother of two, my son DeKobe (6) and my daughter Aziyah (2). Family is my foundation of love, and I am dedicated to spending intentional time with them. They remind me daily of why I lead, serve, and pour into the next generation.

At the core of everything I do, whether coaching, mentoring, or leading is a belief that strong relationships are the foundation for growth, success, and lasting impact.

Lexy

A Verona High School alum and former UW–Madison basketball player, Lexy turned a career-ending injury into a passion for athlete mental health. Now a Health Equity Strategist and Head Girls Basketball Coach at Verona, she is dedicated to building relationships and using sports as a tool for growth and leadership.

My “why” comes from a lifelong connection to sport. Having been a multi-sport athlete, I know firsthand how the lessons learned on the court and field translate directly to life. Sport is about building character, developing confidence, giving back to the community, and creating lasting relationships.

I’ve experienced the highs of athletics, but also the challenges, including injuries and mental health struggles. Those experiences taught me the importance of resilience and opened my eyes to the deep connection between sport and mental health. Because of that, I am passionate about creating an environment where athletes can grow not only as players, but as people, where they learn to trust themselves, overcome adversity, and carry those lessons far beyond the game.
